Middle & High School Summer Music Programs

Looking to do something musical in July?

Kristin Marchilena, our Music Teacher and Arts Department Chair, is offering two weeks of programming here at VCS. These camps will be open to the general public with priority registration given to enrolled VCS students. Space will be limited.

VCS Rock Lab (open to rising 8th-11th graders)
Monday, July 6th – Friday, July 10th, 9:30am-3:00pm
Partial-day and partial-week options available
Cost: $500 full week / $300 partial week

Learn a new instrument or deepen your skills on an existing instrument. Learn to play songs that already exist or work to create original music during a combination of solo time and group jam sessions. Vocalists and instrumentalists are equally welcome. While there will not be a live performance at the end of the week, each student will have the opportunity to record in the studio.

VCS Vocal Intensive (open to rising 7th-11th graders)
Monday, July 13th – Thursday, July 16th, 9:30am-3pm
Cost: $400 (4-day week)

Build vocal technique to sing with confidence and artistry. Spend the week creating a vocal showcase, with opening and closing ensemble numbers and solos/duets/trios for all participants. Students can focus on classical, musical theater, or contemporary commercial music. Students with an interest in musical theater will also have the opportunity to work on monologues and scenes connected to their song repertoire. The showcase, open to participants’ family members and friends, will be at 2:00pm on Thursday, July 16th.
