Brief Biography

Growing up near the Finger Lakes, south of Rochester, New York, I was homeschooled for my elementary school years with a project-based discovery oriented method that inspired my love of learning. My college admissions essay focused on why it appears contradictory to go into education after not attending school, yet I had given more thought to how people learn than most  teens. Prior to my time at Vermont Commons School, I worked at the Gailer and Bellwether Schools, as well as directed the math program at Pacem Learning Community, a center for homeschoolers in Montpelier. I have a sweet toddler who regularly reminds me of the sheer joy of learning new things!

Scholarship. Community. Global Responsibility.
