Brief Biography

Peter was born and raised in Plymouth, Massachusetts, and attended local public schools grades 1-12.  He went on to attend the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. earning his BA and playing four years of intercollegiate rugby.  He later enrolled at Harvard University in the School of Education earning a Masters with special emphasis in Administration, Planning, and Social Policy.  His employment in education has been entirely in independent schools, yet he also comes from a family long dedicated to public education and service.  He has worked in many types of private schools including boarding and day, single sex and co-ed, religious and nonsectarian, traditional and specialized for learning differences.  He has also worked in private business specializing in management information systems, educational software, and consulting to independent schools, hospitals, and museums.  His son Nate is at Tufts and his daughter Eliza attends Middlebury College.  His wife Cynthia is a specialist in diagnostic testing for children with learning differences, and is very excited about living in Vermont.
