Best VCS moment
As a parent of a Vermont Commons student, when my daughter, Deva, received the Language Arts award at her graduation. At that moment her English teacher, Cara Simone Bader, cried along with the family. What joy!
Inspirational Quotation
“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. Live the questions”
-Rainer Maria Rilke
Interests and Hobbies
Yoga; Biking, Running & Hiking; Photography; Poetry Writing; Gardening; Cooking.
Born a twin and the youngest of eight children taught me how to seek attention through independence and excellence. Those lessons continue to serve me well and, simultaneously, I acknowledge the good luck that has accompanied my hard work. The effort and joy of parenting two (now adult) daughters continues to influence my work and my personal growth and direction. There are many quality of life decisions, which inform my life and are luxuries I never take for granted: living in Vermont, daily proximity to nature and dogs, practicing yoga, and choosing a profession, which allows me to express a deep seated love of language and a sensitivity to the welfare of others.
