Graduate Degrees:

  • Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Second Language, Saint Michael's College, Colchester , VT.

Undergraduate degree:

  • B. A in Translation and Interpretation - Universidad Ricardo Palma , Lima- Peru

Best VCS moment:

  • The first day of class. I loved the warm welcome from everyone.

Inspirational Quotation:

  • "Los sueños se construyen a mano". Literally, it means: "The dreams are made by hand". In my senior year, my class advisor concluded his speech with this sentence. It is so true. If we want to reach our dreams we want to work hard for them to become true, they don't happen from one day to the other.

Interests and Hobbies:

  • Mostly reading and all crafts you can imagine: scrapbooking, knitting, glass painting, beading, etc. Also gardening, biking, and dancing.

I was born in Lima, Peru but I actually lived most of my life in Callao, which is next to Lima. I came to Vermont as an exchange student in 2002 and I decided to start my Master's in 2003. After the first winter, I thought I was going to die of the cold and I wanted to go back to Peru. However, I got used to the big boots, the three sweaters and the snow everywhere. Finally, I married a great Vermonter last April, defended my thesis, and a week later, I graduated in May. This year has been very rich in experiences, and having the opportunity to join Vermont Commons has been one of them.
