Comprehensive Fee $19,950 for the 9th-12th grades for the 2010-11 year
The 7th and 8th grade comprehensive fee for the 7th and 8th grade of $18,000 is frozen for the 2010-11 and 2011-12 school years. The comprehensive fee is for the entire academic year and covers support systems that are part of the Vermont Commons School program; it includes the textbook and activity fees, field trips and encounter week programs. Encounter Week programs involving national or international travel, any special services requested, or individually designed activities such as music lessons are not included in the Comprehensive Fee.
As noted, the Comprehensive Fee is for the entire academic year, and, regardless of the method of payment, parents or guardians are obligated for payment of the full amount of the fee. An enrollment contract will be forwarded to parents or guardians upon acceptance of the applicant.
Deposit: Within 20 days of acceptance to the school, Vermont Commons requires a deposit from newly admitted students to secure a space for the applicant. The deposit is applied to the Comprehensive Fee and is fully refundable until June 1, 2010.
Financial Aid
It is our intent that the Vermont Commons student body be broadly representative of the community-at-large. The Financial Aid program is intended to help us accomplish this goal. During the 2009-10 academic year, the school awarded financial aid to approximately 25% of the student body. Families who anticipate requesting financial assistance should apply at the time they submit their admissions application. All financial aid families are required to complete the Parents Financial Statement through the School and Students Service for Financial Aid and provide the 1040 tax form for the current year. Families may apply on line by going to http://sss.nais.org Please note that the school makes its Admissions and Financial Aid decisions independently of one another. All those who are interested in financial aid are encouraged to apply.
Families who intend to apply for Financial Aid for the 2010-11 academic year are encouraged to apply by March 3, 2010 to be considered an on time applicant. Please direct Financial Aid inquiries to Emily Tupper at emily@vermontcommons.org. The school will review requests for aid after this date, but the priority date to submit all paperwork is March 3, 2010.
