Storm Water Runoff Surveys

Students worked with the Town of Shelburne and the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources gathering data on rooftop drainage patterns in two Shelburne neighborhoods. The neighborhoods' stormwater drains into Munroe Brook, which has been classified by the state as a polluted stream. By assessing drainage patterns and educating homeowners on how to change their homes' stormwater drainage to reduce the impact from their yards, students helped to improve the brook's water quality and boosted the water quality of nearby Shelburne Bay
