Screenwriting Workshop

This course focused on the process and conventions of writing a screenplay in preparation for the school’s first trip to the Sundance Film Festival in 2005. As part of the process, they also attended a film that was part of the Vermont International Film Festival in Burlington. Through exposure to the conventions of Independent filmmaking and the dialogues about the filmmaking process at a major film festival, students became more sophisticated viewers of film. After eight days in Utah viewing films and talking to directors at the Sundance Film Festival, students felt empowered to be able to take their own ideas to the silver screen!
