Intervale Community Farming Initiative
The Intervale Research and Service class studied current issues in agricultural policies, processes and ethics. On field days, they harvested crops at the Intervale, a local organic Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm in Burlington. Afterward, they sorted the harvest and prepared for distribution to members of the CSA. On class days, they researched agricultural practices and discussed their respective benefits and drawbacks. Ultimately, the participants from VCS were armed with enough information regarding food production to make personal decisions regarding their consumption habits.
